The most successful coach CBU baseball has ever had, Gary Adcock begins his eighth year at the helm of the Lancer program.

In seven seasons, Adcock has turned California Baptist into an perennial contender in the Golden State Athletic Conference while at the same time putting the Lancers on the national map.

His career mark of 238-134-1 is the best in program history, and he is the only Lancer coach to win two GSAC championships, an NAIA National Championship Opening Round title and two GSAC Coach of the Year honors. He has posted five 30-win seasons and two 40-win seasons, and from 2004-08, he guided the Lancers to five straight postseason berths, something no other CBU baseball coach was able to accomplish. All told, he has made the postseason six of his previous seven years at the helm.

After missing the playoffs for the first time in his career in 2009, Adcock and the Lancers returned with a vengeance in 2010. With a team that included just two seniors, the Lancers won a school-record 49 games (49-15) and put together one of the most impressive runs in GSAC history, winning the conference title with a 30-6 mark and by a whopping seven games. They won all but one four-game series, and that one they split with ninth-ranked Fresno Pacific.
